Philly July 4th Celebrations!
There are tons of events going on throughout the city this weekend. Philadelphia is the birthplace of independence and freedom. So what better way to celebrate July 4th weekend than staying in Philly?
Here is a roundup of events taking place on this holiday weekend. Hopefully, the impending hurricane down south does not affect our weather forecast in the city!
Philly July 4th
The Benjamin Franklin Parkway will be hosting a free concert from 7-11 p.m. featuring The Roots, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Hudson, Ariana Grande, Aloe Blacc and other artists. This event sponsored by VH-1 is known as the “Largest Free Concert in America.” A fireworks finale right near the Philadelphia Museum of Art will cap off the night.
The Independence Day Parade will commence on 6th and Chestnut Streets at 11 a.m. on July 4th.
The SugarHouse Casino located at 1001 N. Delaware Avenue is also holding its own July 4th celebration festivities with a free concert series on July 4-5 starting at 6 p.m.
Penns Landing is hosting an event for all ages on July 4-6. The Super Scooper All-You-Can-Eat Ice Cream Festival that benefits the Joshua Kahan Fund for pediatric cancer research. This event requires a $7 donation for each participant.
The above only covers a few of the many events and activities going on in Philly throughout the weekend.

Philadelphia Inquirer Real Estate Writer, Alan J. Heavens, reported on the start of ground breaking and development for Philadelphia’s newest high-rise in University City. The 3601 Market Street building is expected to be complete by spring 2015. The building will consist of apartments and retail space as well as parking for cars and bicycles.
