Philly.com reported a new high rise tower has been proposed to take place of the grassy lot at 1919 Market Street, right on the corner of 20th and Market Streets. The plans include a 29-story building that will feature 321 apartments and 24,000 square feet of commercial space. The high-end apartments will boast of full concierge service, a roof top fitness facility, pool, golf simulator and garage parking open to the public.
Philly.com also reported that the company who has spearheaded the project, Brandywine Realty Trust, has recently stated the apartments will be designed for high-end, wealthy tenants. Architectural company, Barton Partners, and Hunter Roberts Construction Group expect the project to be complete in 2016. Construction is planned to begin immediately. As of right now, information on apartment floor plans and leases have not yet been released.
As for the 24,000 square ft. commercial space, leases have already been put in place for Independence Blue Cross and the CVS drugstore chain.
Developers are also hoping to obtain an LEED Silver Certification. This new building to grace Market Street will feature modern amenities like glass paneling throughout.
