In South Philadelphia, the former paintbrush factory located at 1201 Jackson Street has been approved for conversion into an apartment complex. According to Philly.com, developer Tony Rufo plans to construct a 3-story apartment building with 151 units, 62 parking spaces and 24 bicycle spots.

The Lower Moyamensing Civic Association has approved of this project, which will be named the Artisan Lofts.

The former paintbrush factory, Bestt Liebco, closed in 2005 and laid-off 55 employees. The facility consisted of 150,000 square feet of space for manufacturing.
