Spruce Street Harbor Park will make its temporary debut this Summer on the Delaware River Waterfront. This “pop-up” park was designed by the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation and is expected to kick-off on June 27th.
This colorful and lively addition to the waterfront will feature a pop-up bar and restaurant, boardwalk area, tables and seating around the Columbus Monument and an Urban Beach fully decked out with beach chairs and umbrellas. This temporary attraction will be around all summer and is expected to end on August 31st.
Philadelphia Magazine reported that Groundswell Design Group, Interface Studios and Digsau collaborated in the design efforts for the Spruce Street Harbor Park. Although this design project is only temporary for Summer 2014, it is a great use of space and will maybe spark interest for a permanent park design in the near future.
